Austin qualified 12th for the Ice Cold Shrine Race on January 9th at Lanier Motor Speedway. After making it up to 8th and running there for a while a caution came out and the restart set Austin back to 11th, where he rode comfortably for the remainder of the Ice Cold Shrine Race. This was only Austin's 3rd start in his late model so he was pleased with the finish.
